Throughout 2005 we will be presenting Special Themed Events to reflect our global approach to food and drink. Although the dates are yet to be confirmed here is a taster of what is to come !!! Thai Me Kangaroo Down Sport!....... A look at how Thai food has influenced the Aussie style of eating. Stravaigin The Orient Express - A culinary journey from Paris through Istanbul, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore with tasters of regional dishes and drinks. Thali Night - .Bringing alive the tastes of India washed down with Kingfisher Beer and Lassi.


> Tsumami Appeal - Scotland's Top Chefs cook Serious Food
In February Stravaiginís Colin Clydesdale, along with Nick Nairn and Andrew Fairlie, prepared and cooked a Gourmet Dinner for 400 VIPs in Glasgowís City Chambers with all proceeds donated to Hikaduwa, a Sri Lankaan village struck by the Asian Tsunami. The vast sum of £88,000 generated enabled the locals to repair their fleets of boats essential in sustaining their communities. By way of thanks to Colin for his efforts the villagers named the first boat back in the water "Stravaigin".

> Hebridean Delicacy
In October 2004 we managed to secure a rare salted gannet. These prized Lewisian delicacy rarely reached the open market they are gastronomic gold dust. We served this in the traditional Hebridean way with new potatoes and a glass of milk. The verdict - its like a combination of duck, venison and blustery afternoon on the face of The Old Man of Hoy.
