Aromas of black pepper and tobacco are prominent on the nose with ripe yet soft tannins giving great structure on the palate.  Oak maturation plays only a minor part with the expressive black fruit coming to the fore.

Chile

Corinto Carmenere, Central Valley, 2006, Chile, 14%
Bordeaux’s long lost grape variety has found it’s spiritual home in Chile, producing crimson coloured, medium- to full- bodied wines with juicy flavours of blackberry, coffee and spice. This is a great example of the style; rich, forward and juicy, with delicious cardamom and mint notes. A superb match for red meat dishes.
